breaking wind

Despite being sickened by all the recent multiracist rhetoric, hope still springs (though not eternal) in my breast. I was inspired to bastardise a Scorpions song after reading a Malaysia Today article. Here goes:

I follow the Kelang
Down to the Padang
Listening to the wind of change
This night on March the 8th
The Rakyat eagerly wait
Listening to the wind of change

The world is closing in
Did you ever think
That this would happen in our lifetime
The future’s in the air
I can feel it everywhere
Blowing with the wind of change

Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
In the wind of change

Walking down the street
Recent memories
Remind us that the fight’s not over
I follow the Kelang
Down to the Padang
Listening to the wind of change

Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams
With you and me
Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
In the wind of change

The wind of change blows straight
Into the face of time
Like a tsunami that will cleanse
This polluted land of mine
Let the Dewan Rakyat sing
What Malaysians wants to say

Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams
With you and me
Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
In the wind of change

Dear God, the man can rhyme, I didn't know you had it in you! lovely lyrics, and let's hope all this 'tsunami' business doesn't crap out to be another tiny wave in a puddle...

Succumbing to my wanderlust…
